Martin Keown has urged Arsenal NOT to signal Ivan Toney in January amid studies suggesting the Gunners may make a transfer.
Talking on talkSPORT, Keown in contrast Arsenal’s state of affairs to Man Metropolis with Erling Haaland and claimed he was undecided whether or not the staff have been prepared to vary their dynamic by including the Brentford ace.
He stated: “If we examine Ivan [Toney] to Haaland and what Haaland does in that staff. Man Metropolis, as a result of they’re so sturdy all over the place else, have been capable of take that participant out of the highest of the staff.
“They’ve performed with a false 9 for a few years, two or three seasons the place they may combine that participant who drops from a excessive place into midfield to present them the management they wanted.
“As soon as they secured that midfield with Gundogan, De Bruyne and Rodri, they stated ‘Okay let’s carry that striker in’.
“It’s whether or not Arsenal are prepared for that. Gabriel Jesus, when he’s taking part in striker, we see him at left-back and everywhere in the pitch as a result of it’s extra of a collective effort.
“Possibly he has to do this as a result of up to now the staff hasn’t been sturdy sufficient defensively, so it’s the place the staff is. However I get it as a result of Toney is a prolific goalscorer.”
