Jennifer Lopez attracts inspiration from her love life for her music — and Ben Affleck has been her muse since their romance started.
The couple — famously dubbed Bennifer — started their whirlwind romance in 2002. Affleck and Lopez first related on the set of the movie Gigi the place they performed gangsters who fell in love. After Lopez cut up from then-husband Cris Judd in June 2002, she and Affleck went public with their romance. Lopez and the Oscar winner had been engaged 5 months later.
Along with their relationship milestones in that first 12 months, Lopez launched her album This Is Me … Then, which she devoted to Affleck on the time. The album featured a few of Lopez’s largest songs, together with “Jenny from the Block,” “All I Have,” “Child I Love U,” “I’m Glad” and extra.
Almost twenty years after the album’s launch, Lopez mirrored on how significant the document was to her.
“After I listened to that [album] on many, many various ranges, these songs are extra related in the present day than they even had been then,” she mentioned in a July 2021 interview with Apple Music. “It was an actual pure second in time. And that music, when it’s essential, it by no means goes away … love, it simply doesn’t go away. It’s simply there.”
Regardless of being comfortable and in love at first, the pair finally referred to as off their marriage ceremony in 2004. Following their cut up, Lopez went on to wed Marc Anthony. Affleck, for his half, moved on with Jennifer Garner. Each relationships led to divorce.
Seven years after their breakup, Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance. In April 2022, Affleck proposed for a second time. Three months later, the pair secretly tied the knot in Las Vegas and had a second ceremony for family and friends at Affleck’s Georgia house.
Lopez launched the music “Midnight Journey to Vegas” in July 2023 to commemorate the couple’s first marriage ceremony anniversary. She shared the lyrics of the brand new music in a publication forward of the official launch of her album This Is Me … Now later in 2023.
