Mark Healey, the co-founder of Media Molecule and director of its PlayStation-exclusive sport Desires, has introduced that he’s leaving the studio.
Healey introduced his departure on Twitter, the place he revealed that right this moment (April 17) was his final day on the studio.
“So, after seventeen years of co-birthing and constructing Media Molecule – I’ve determined it’s time for me to time for me to fly the following – set sail and chart a brand new course,” wrote Healey.

“However a robust cosmic breeze is pulling me and my pirate coronary heart is woke up, I’m not getting any youthful so am going to indulge myself within the winds of my varied curiosities for some time and see the place they take me…”
“Right here’s to new beginnings, following one’s coronary heart and exploring the unknown,” concluded Healey, who clarified that he’ll nonetheless be creating video games.
In an announcement, Media Molecule shared that “while the current altering form of the group is undeniably a second, our group of Molecules are able to take up the baton”.

Information of Healey’s departure comes just below every week after Media Molecule introduced it was ending dwell help for Desires, a title that Healey directed.
In an announcement, the studio defined it was “not in a position to outline a sustainable path” to help the sport whereas engaged on its subsequent title.
Whereas Media Molecule’s subsequent sport has not but been introduced, the studio has confirmed that it’s going to not be a sequel to Desires and gained’t be set throughout the Desires IP.
In December 2022, artwork director and fellow co-founder Kareem Ettouney introduced they had been leaving the corporate.
