Twitter customers must opt-in and pay for a Twitter Blue subscription to authenticate their accounts, a change that has been cited as selling equality by Twitter proprietor Elon Musk. Many stars from the leisure trade have expressed their disappointment at shedding their blue ticks, together with Charli XCX and St. Vincent. Others, equivalent to Nathan Followill of Kings of Leon, have taken the change of their stride. Filmmaker Duncan Jones lamented the benefit with which impersonation may now happen on the platform.
